About

Hi, I’m Ilya

I’m a software architect and R&D leader with more than 18 years of experience building software products and leading engineering teams.

My background includes API platforms, developer tools, distributed systems, and software architecture. I’ve worked with global teams at companies including Rapid and Nokia, but I still enjoy being close to the technology and building things myself.

Recently, I’ve been focused on AI agents—particularly the security boundaries between autonomous software and human authority. How should agents receive permissions? How can we constrain those permissions? And how do we verify what actually happened?

I started this blog to explore these questions from a practical engineering perspective. I write about AI agents, authorization, security, architecture, and lessons learned from building real systems.

I’m also working on Delegent, an open-source security layer for giving AI agents limited and verifiable authority.

You can find me on GitHub and LinkedIn.
